Brief Summary of Project:
I found this position on indeed.com for a project manager and took the liberty of preparing a cover letter example to help stand out among the competition. I wanted to show a different idea for the existing sign. I decided to show the logo spinning because it would entertain both meanings in the logo being the obvious “S” for South, but when inverted, clearly a tree for wood. Exterior lighting provided an entertaining silhouette during the evening as the spinning logo broke the light. With the fun “eye candy” out of the way I proceeded to create a set of drawings for the project. This was to show that, while the pretty things are fun and certainly important for the right people, the work is in the details and communication of intent to all parties involved. This assembly is purely conceptual and fictitious but any real project would include integrating necessary interaction between the elements to maintain building envelope integrity. The idea of the entire video is to portray my understanding and qualifications for a role with the company.

Workflow Methodology:
Using photographs and general knowledge of construction and material sizing, I estimated the building and blocked out the model using Sketchup. Knowing that my timeline would include the set of drawings I created the cover sheet and a single internal sheet showing information about the sign. These sheets included project information, annotated elevations, sections, and details. I exported the model into Blender and textured it accordingly. I added the additional landscape, foliage, lightning, and camera paths  and rendered out each scene. I then edited the movie in After Effects.
